Wine Spectrum, Cinzano, Frederick Wildman, Buckingham Wile - Pierre Ferrari

.
Pierre Ferrari worked in the wine industry during what he refers to as an "amazing time for consolidation in that industry" -- 1978-1988. These days, he is involved through his Atlanta-based consulting business, New Value Partners, with other beverages -- namely Yerba mate (see http://www.guayaki.com/). Pierre believes in this sustainable product -- " We are very conscientiously managing thebusiness across the triple bottom lines of financial, social and environmental." Still, he notes that being in the wine business was great fun.

* VP International Development, The Wine Spectrum (aka Coke wine division): 1978-1982

* President of Cinzano North America 1982-1984

* President of Frederick Wildman and Sons (very high end wine/spirit importer) from 1984-1987.

* SrVP Buckingham Wile and Sons..1987-1988

"The reason for ALL the moves is that each company was sold," Pierre notes. Talk about consolidation!

Pierre is a 1976 graduate of Harvard Business School.

According to the Website, "California Grapes International, Inc. is your leader in international wine sales and distribution. The current business model of wine distribution and sales in the United States and abroad does not provide for an effective sale strategy beyond the direct sale of a wineries’ tasting room. The biggest challenge is the absence of value being provided to the buyer.

California Grapes International, Inc. has developed the necessary plan to achieve this “Value Added” sales and distribution model. In looking to international markets for the deployment of this plan we have identified and developed the necessary marketing, operations and sales support mechanisms to help domestic wineries realize the opportunity of international sales."
